Styling Guide and Tips – Copy
Christmas Mini Guide and Questionnaire
I can’t wait to capture your Christmas photos! Please fill out the questionnaire below to the best of your abilities, and check out my styling guide and tips for the best photoshoot experience! Feel free to message with with any questions before our session together!
Location: The studio is at 3400 W 49th St Suite 204, Sioux Falls, SD 57106. After you park in the parking lot, come through the main door in the center of the building. The suite is the first door on the left located at the top of the flight of stairs. I recommend checking Google Maps before the day to see how long it will take to get to your session. Give yourself a little extra time for traffic, parking, and getting everyone ready to go.
Arrive on Time: Arriving about 5–10 minutes early is a great way to avoid feeling rushed. When you arrive, please wait in the reception area and ensure you’re ready when it’s your time to come into the studio. Since these are shorter sessions, arriving late will unfortunately take away from your time in front of the camera. I want you to have as much time as possible for your family to make some adorable memories!
Parent Notes:
There is no pressure for your children to behave perfectly or smile at the camera the entire time. Some of my favorite photos happen when kids are simply being themselves! You’ll play, cuddle, and have fun together. I’ll help guide you along the way, so don’t worry about making everything perfect.
Also, please keep an eye on your little ones. We’ll have Christmas props and decorations set up for everyone to enjoy, so please help your children treat everything gently. I want all the families coming after you to enjoy the setup, too!
What to Wear:
I recommend choosing about three colors that look good together, including at least one neutral. Instead of wearing matching outfits, choose pieces that complement each other and add a little variety with different textures and layers.
Whenever possible, avoid logos, graphics, or busy patterns. The goal is to keep the focus on your family and the memories you’re making together.
Feel free to wear matching or coordinating Christmas pajamas, too!
Helpful Tips:
If your little one’s nap falls around your session time, try to plan their schedule ahead of time so they have the best chance of arriving happy and ready.
Feeding your children before the session can make a big difference. If needed, arrive a little early and give them a snack or meal in the car before we begin.
Check your makeup and hair in the mirror (in your car or in the bathroom located down the hallway before you enter the suite) prior to the session.
Please empty your pockets, take off hair ties from wrists, apple watches, sunglasses, baseball hats, and anything else you’d prefer not to see in your photos before we begin.
Don’t bring anything your child is obsessed with, unless you want it in the pictures.
Before we start, take a moment to check your children’s eye’s, nose, and mouth.
Please avoid eating in the studio to help keep outfits and props clean. You’re welcome to bring snacks, drinks, or other essentials to use before and after your session.
Most importantly, be ready to spend time together, have fun, and make a few Christmas memories.
Questionnaire
When will I receive my photos?
Your fully edited images will be back to you within 2 weeks! Although, if you would like more cumbersome editing (such as covering acne or scrapes) it might take a little longer.
What do you mean by “editing”?
When I edit photos, it doesn’t mean I’m changing what you or your loved ones look like, actually, it’s the exact opposite. My editing is color correcting, adding clarity, and little touch-ups. However, if someone fell and got a little mark before the photoshoot, I’ll touch it up free of cost.
What will the photo delivery process look like?
For these Christmas Minis, in 2 week I’ll send your full gallery of 15+ edited digital images that you can print, download, share, and enjoy!
